Tibolone is a synthetic steroid with
weak estrogenic, progestogenic, and androgenic activity, and hence is an
agonist of the estrogen, progesterone, and androgen receptors. It is a prodrug
of several metabolites. The estrogenic effects of tibolone may show
tissue selectivity in their distribution.
